Foreword
This general information on the use of cookies by Pietro Parmeggiani S.r.l. refers to the site www.sleepis.it.
Specific detailed information on the cookies served by the site www.sleepis.it is reported at the end of this statement, together with the methods for enabling or disabling cookies.
Definitions, characteristics and enforcement
Cookies are small text files that the sites you visit send and store on your computer or mobile device, and are then sent back to the same sites the next time you visit.
It is thanks to cookies that the site remembers the user’s actions and preferences (such as, for example, login details, chosen language, font size, other display settings, etc.) so that they do not have to be indicated again when the user returns to that site or navigates from one page to another. Cookies, therefore, are used to perform computer authentication, session monitoring and storage of information regarding the activities of users accessing a site and may also contain a unique identification code that allows tracking of the user’s navigation within the site for statistical or advertising purposes. While browsing a site, the user may also receive on his/her computer or mobile device cookies from sites or web servers other than the one he/she is visiting (“third party” cookies). Some operations could not be carried out without the use of cookies, which in certain cases are therefore technically necessary for the operation of the site.
There are various types of cookies, depending on their characteristics and functions, and they may remain on the user’s computer or mobile device for different periods of time: so-called session cookies, which are automatically deleted when the browser is closed; so-called persistent cookies, which remain on the user’s device until a preestablished expiry date.
According to current Italian legislation, the use of cookies does not always require the express consent of the user. In particular, no such consent is required for “technical cookies”, i.e. those used for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communication network, or to the extent strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user. In other words, these are cookies that are indispensable for the functioning of the site or necessary to carry out activities requested by the user.
Equivalent to the technical cookies mentioned above, which therefore do not require express consent for their use, are also the “analytics cookies” when used directly by the operator of the site (so-called “first party cookies” or “first party cookies”). analytics cookies” where they are used directly by the site operator (so-called “first party” or “proprietary” cookies) to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site itself – or, where they are provided by third parties, if appropriate tools are used to reduce the identification power (for example, by masking significant portions of the IP address) – and “functionality cookies”, which allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (e.g. language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to the same.
For “profiling cookies”, on the other hand, i.e. those aimed at creating profiles of the user and used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user while surfing the web, the user’s prior consent is required.
Types of cookies used by the sites and possibilities of (de-)selection
The sleepis.it website uses the types of cookies listed in the table below.
The site offers the possibility of (de-)selecting cookies as indicated below, except for third-party cookies for which the user must refer directly to the selection and de-selection procedures for their respective cookies set by their respective managers (see “Third-party cookies” below).
Cookies are classified into:
– Technical cookies – navigation or session cookies – which are strictly necessary for the operation of the site or to enable the user to take advantage of the content and services requested by the user.
– Analytics cookies, which allow the site operator to understand how the site is used by users. These cookies do not collect information about the identity of the user or any personal data. The information is processed in aggregate and anonymous form.
– Functionality cookies, used to enable specific site features and selected criteria (e.g. language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided.
Please note that if you disable technical and/or functionality cookies, the site may not be accessible or certain services or features of the site may not be available or may not function properly, and you may be required to change or manually enter certain information or preferences each time you visit the site.
– Third party cookies, i.e. cookies from websites or web servers other than that of the Owner, used for the purposes of such third parties, including profiling cookies. It should be noted that these third parties, listed below with the relevant hyperlinks to their privacy policies, act as independent data controllers of the data collected through the cookies sent by them; therefore, the user must refer to their personal data processing policies, disclosures and any consent collection forms (selection and de-selection of the respective cookies). It should also be noted, with reference to Google Analytics cookies, that appropriate tools have been adopted to reduce the identification power of these cookies by masking significant portions of the IP address. The use of these cookies has also been set in such a way that the provider (Google) uses them exclusively for the provision of the service, stores them separately and does not ‘enrich’ or ‘cross-reference’ them with other information it has at its disposal.
Listed below are links to the respective disclosures on the use of cookies (as required by the Measure Identifying simplified methods for providing information and obtaining consent for the use of cookies – 8 May 2014):

In detail, the first-party cookies present on the Site are listed in the table below.
How to view and modify cookies through your browser
Users can select which cookies to authorise through the procedure provided by the sites on the pages referred to in the links above, as well as authorise, block or delete (all or part of) the cookies also through the specific functions of their browser: however, if all or some of the cookies are disabled, the site may not be accessible or some services or functions of the site may not be available or may not work properly and/or the user may be forced to change or manually enter some information or preferences each time he/she visits the site.
For more information on how to set your preferences for the use of cookies through your browser, please refer to the relevant instructions:

Cookie Management Instructions
Below it is possible for the user to make a choice and indicate specifically which cookies to authorise.
We inform the user that not allowing technical cookies may result in the inability to use the site, view its contents and use its services. Inhibiting functionality cookies may mean that some services or certain functions of the site will not be available or will not function properly, and the user may have to modify or manually enter certain information or preferences each time he or she visits the site.
Failure to consent to the other third party cookies indicated will not affect the operation of the site; however, as these types of cookies are sent exclusively by third parties, and as the operator of this site cannot control the sending of these cookies to the user’s terminal, the relative objection can only be exercised by accessing the consent forms provided by the aforementioned third parties, if any, or through the settings on your browser. The links to the privacy policies and consent forms for receiving cookies set up by third parties that send cookies through this website are provided above in the paragraph on Types of cookies used by the websites and (de-)selection options.
As regards the cookies directly sent by the operator of this site, in addition to the procedure made available on this page, the user may block or delete (all or part of) the cookies also through the specific functions of his or her browser (in this regard, see above).
The choices made by the user with regard to the site’s cookies will in turn be recorded in a specific technical cookie, with the characteristics indicated in the relevant cookie table. However, this cookie may not function properly in certain circumstances: in such cases, we recommend that you delete any cookies you do not like and inhibit their use through your browser.
